Full Body Harness

The Challenge

We were approached by a customer to develop a comprehensive soft-goods solution for their premium fall-protection harness. The scope includes shoulder straps, a hip belt, and leg pads, along with custom plastic components designed to integrate seamlessly into the overall solution.

The Solution

We developed a hybrid solution combining traditional cut-and-sew construction with thermoformed panels. The thermoformed exteriors
incorporated engineered flex points, recessed areas for branding, and integrated ventilation to enhance breathability and overall comfort.

Integrated Self-Rescue Belt

The Challenge

A leading safety device company approached us needing an Integrated Self Rescue Belt designed and manufactured.

We needed to design a system that would incorporate into an already designed SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) to allow a firefighter to escape from the nearest window of a burning building in the event of a ceiling collapse.

The Solution

Our design team, engineering department, and machinist working together with our customer’s engineering team, successfully achieved all of the customers’ expectations for the Integrated Self-Rescue Belt.

We designed a machined descending device that allows the user to descend to the ground safely holding the users weight. As the device is hand pressed, it slides down a fire retardant webbing freely and slowly. A storage compartment allows webbing to be stored and an easy to use refill system to store the webbing back in place after the system is used.

The Self Rescue Belt also stores the descending device, and a hook that attaches to the window for the user to escape.

In addition to storing all of these different components, the Self Rescue Belt was made in such a way that it integrates into the existing waist pads of the current breathing apparatus system.

Emergency Air Supply Bag

The Challenge

A leading safety device company approached us needing a carry bag for an emergency air supply system designed and manufactured by RIT.

The emergency air-supply bag would contain a large oxygen cylinder, a mask, and necessary tools. This system would be used to assist a downed firefighter or victims in a fire situation. The emergency air supply bag needed to be strong enough to support the weight of the components inside, fire resistant, and highly visible.

The bag would be dragged behind first responders so it needed to have a smooth durable base. The emergency air supply bag needed to have strong safety straps and O-rings to attach bag to victims needing the air supply.

The bag needed to be designed at a competitive price point and manufactured in the USA.

The Solution

Our design team working together with our customer’s engineering team successfully achieved all of the customers’ expectations for the emergency air supply bag.

Implementation of an orange Cordura 1000 denier material with fluorescent coating provided rugged strength and a visible base. We added Hi Vis reflective tape to truly achieve high visibility. We also utilized a fire resistant coating.

We took advantage of a thermal formed protective skid to provide a durable base and reduce friction when the RIT emergency air supply bag was being dragged.

We implemented the use of a versatile, extra durable, length adjustable shoulder/Drag Strap.

Implementation of 10 O-rings allow easy identification of attachment points.

Having both US and China manufacturing plants allowed us to satisfy the need for the USA made RIT emergency air supply bag.

Protective Carrying Case for Escape Breathing Apparatus

The Challenge

The manufacturer of the QuickAir Emergency Escape Breathing Apparatus came to AGORA for a protective carry case for the device. The device is approved for escape from atmospheres that have become immediately dangerous to life or health.

The Solution

The user-friendly solution is universally designed to be worn over either shoulder, across the chest, or around the neck. Illustrated instructions are screened on the bag to demonstrate how to use the unit. The highly-visible orange case is made of a flexible PVC that resists flame, chemicals, mildew, and ultraviolet rays.

Insulated Jacket for Spray Gun

Insulated Jacket for Spray Gun

The Challenge

In manufacturing environments there are many instances where a sprayed substance is required for assembly. This is mostly some form of adhesive. The high temperature needed to heat these adhesives to a sprayable consistency can pose a safety threat to any employees near the machine. Also, the machine needs to be insulated to reach and maintain that temperature.

The Solution

Materials are key to the solution. Fiber glass and Aramid materials are used in the construction of these insulating jackets; stainless steel Velcro and Kevlar thread also resist the heat. Each product is custom designed to provide a tight and contoured fit to each unit. The jacket provides a protective barrier for the heat and helps to prevent injuries to the operators.
